Privacy Policy
Park'd ("we", "us") runs a mobile and web app that helps people find food trucks and helps truck owners share where they are. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it short and plain because you should actually be able to read it.
What we collect
- Account info — your email address, display name, and whether you're a foodie or a truck owner. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and name from them.
- Location — with your permission. For foodies, we use your device location to show nearby trucks and distances; we do not store it. For truck owners, if you turn on live location while you're open, we store your truck's latest coordinates so foodies can find you, and we stop when you close.
- Content you create — your truck profile, photos, menu, hours, schedule, favorites, reviews, orders, and event requests.
- Payment information — handled by Stripe, not by us. When you pay in the app, your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your card number. We keep a record of the order, its amount, whether it was paid, and Stripe's reference for it.
- Truck compliance documents — if you're a truck owner and choose to upload licences, permits, or insurance certificates, we store those files. They may contain personal details, so they're kept in private storage readable only by you and the Park'd team — never publicly, and never by other users.
- Push notification token — if you allow notifications, a device token so we can alert you (for example, when an order arrives for your truck).
What we do with it
We use this information only to run Park'd: to show trucks to foodies, to let trucks manage their listings and receive orders, and to send you alerts you asked for (like "your favorite truck just opened"). We do not sell your data, and we do not run ads.
Who can see what
Your truck's public info (name, cuisine, photos, hours, menu, location while open) is visible to anyone using Park'd. Your reviews show your display name. Your email, your favorites list, and your order history are not public. Truck owners can see the name and any contact details you include on an order or event request they receive.
Where it's stored, and who we share it with
Data is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, which hosts on secure cloud infrastructure. Access is protected by row-level security rules so people can only read and change their own data.
We share data only with the services needed to run Park'd:
- Stripe — to process payments and Truck Pro subscriptions. Stripe handles card details under its own privacy policy.
- Expo — to deliver push notifications.
- Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We do not sell your data.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we send them only for things you opted into — a favorite truck opening, or a new order for your truck. You can turn them off any time in your device settings.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and all of your data at any time in the app: Account → Delete my account. This removes your profile, and any truck, menu, orders, favorites, and reviews attached to it. It cannot be undone. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
Two honest exceptions: Stripe keeps its own record of payments it processed, under its own policy and its legal obligations, and we may keep basic transaction records where tax or accounting law requires it. Neither includes your card number, which we never had.
Children
Park'd isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top and, for anything significant, tell you in the app.
